In the course of a Slashdot discussion on Steve Jobs vs. Zune, we are informed that sharing iPod earbuds is a dreadfully unsanitary practice. If you let someone else stick their earphones in your ears, you’ll end up getting . . . .

That’s true. However, since the discussion was in the context of offering a girl your iPod earbuds in order to pick her up for a sleazy sexual encounter — well, if I were to do such a thing, it’s not my ears that I would worry about.
