Excerpt from conversation with my friend Susan —

SUSAN: I’ve just pulled up a report in DOS. Did you know people still use DOS?

I: There are people in New Guinea who still shrink heads . . . so I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.

Funny you should mention that. I’ve been working on an essai that mentions key punch operators. I used to work on card-fed mainframes myself, back in the Silurian Period, and while I was never a keypunch operator, sometimes (on Saturdays) there wasn’t one on duty and I had to punch my own cards.

tl;dr: I hear you.

Here's one for you: those awesome, cutting edge super jets the Navy has?

They require a bit of equipment with vacuum tubes to calibrate a major piece of repair gear....
(Not classified information, but could be sensitive so I made it obscure as heck.)
